The Freelancer and Contractor Services Association (FCSA) is a professional body that self-regulates the contractor payroll marketplace.
The FCSA offer accreditation to umbrella companies that are driven by ethical practices and a commitment to compliance with UK tax law. For an umbrella company to earn FCSA membership, it must undergo a series of audits and assessments to ensure that all its processes and procedures abide by the highest compliance standards.
The FCSA website states:
“FCSA’s aim is to ensure all parties in the supply chain – especially those served by FCSA members – can expect the highest levels of compliance, transparency, and reliability. We hold our members to the highest standards of compliance in the industry, which drives market reputation and benefits workers.
We rigorously assess FCSA members to ensure they meet our standards. We nurture understanding of the complex issues and work with a broad range of stakeholders to improve the overall landscape.”
Once an organisation earns FCSA membership, it must undergo an annual audit to ensure that its processes remain compliant with UK tax law. Therefore, contractors and freelancers seeking an umbrella are wise to only consider those with FCSA accreditation. A list of FCSA accredited members is available on the FCSA’s website.
The FCSA’s Codes of Compliance
Umbrella companies with FCSA membership (FCSA accreditation) have successfully proven they adhere to the FCSA’s strict and publicly available Codes of Compliance.
Churchill Knight Umbrella
Churchill Knight Umbrella is proudly accredited by the FCSA. We take compliance and service extremely seriously, and we’re delighted to have successfully showcased that we abide by the very highest standards. Upon our most recent FCSA accreditation renewal, Ciaran Woodcock, a director at Churchill Knight Umbrella, said the following:
“The FCSA is the leading professional body dedicated to ensuring the supply chain of temporary workers is compliant. Therefore, maintaining our FCSA accreditation has always been a priority and something we have worked hard to achieve. We have always been 100% committed to compliance within our sector and firmly believe the best way to showcase this was for Churchill Knight & Associates Ltd and Churchill Knight Umbrella to earn and maintain the prestigious FCSA accreditation.
Having our accreditations renewed is something I am proud to announce. The team has worked exceedingly hard to ensure that we always abide by the FCSA’s strict Codes of Compliance and that everything we do is in the best interests of our limited company clients and umbrella employees.
We look forward to continuing to work closely with the FCSA and providing high-quality accountancy and payroll services to the UK’s temporary workforce.”
